Project Name
Bridging the Gap: A Capital Campaign to Expand and Renovate the Steve N. Picillo Community Center
Project Goals
Raise $1.1 million to expand a unique intergenerational facility for older adults with developmental disabilities, and young children through the Fogarty Center's Alphabet Soup Childcare Program. Many of the people that the Center has supported for decades are now facing challenges like Alzheimer's and dementia in addition to decreasing mobility and other conditions. New space is needed to meet these changing needs. In addition, Rhode Island faces a critical shortage of space in quality child care centers to fully include young children with special needs. The Bridging the Gap Campaign will meet both of these important needs by providing the resources necessary to expand both the child care and older adult programs.
Outcome
Campaign in progress. More than $800,000 raised to date.
Testimonial
An agency like the John E. Fogarty Center is sometimes difficult to understand as an outsider. The people we support are incredibly special and the work is often difficult and challenging. FDA has been a pleasure to work with throughout the Bridging the Gap Campaign, very professional and dedicated, and able to understand our unique needs.
